Ocean Import Operations Coordinator

Location: Chelmsford, Essex

Salary: 30,000 – 35,000 (DOE)

Working Hours: Monday – Friday – 8:30am – 17:00pm

Are you an experience Ocean Freight Forwarder, looking for a new opportunity to grow and develop with a new and up-and-coming Freight Forwarder? Then this role could be for you!

My client is looking for an experienced Ocean Operations Coordinator to join their team based in Chelmsford. The aim for the role is for the successful candidate to develop into a Team Leader and eventual Manager.

The right candidate will have experience dealing with Ocean/Sea Freight operations, ideally with experience dealing with imports. Previous experience with pricing and negotiation with clients and hauliers will also be desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day Ocean/Sea Freight operations, start-to-finish.
• Raising Job files and all of the appropriate operations paperwork.
• Extensive supplier and client liaison and negotiation.
• Managing the jobs from quotation stage to final invoicing in line with the client expectations and communicating effectively any service issues.
• Proactively contacting the existing clients to maximise business potential.
• Always be on the lookout for new business opportunities and maximising sales.

Requirements:

• Ocean freight operations experience is essential.
• Import operations experience.
• Customs experience desirable, but not essential
• Experience dealing with Key Accounts is desirable, but not essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and great attention to detail.
